LeBron James Soars To Victory Over Garnett And Celtics
LeBron James | Official Website of BBallOne.com
November 28, 2007 - LeBron James handed the Celtics' Big 3 loss No. 2. Cleveland's superstar scored 38 points, hitting a crucial 3-pointer and all six free throws in overtime as the Cavaliers won their fourth straight, 109-104 over Boston and its heralded trio. James, playing the best ball of his career, scored 11 points in OT as the defending Eastern Conference champions dropped the Celtics to 11-2 with one of their best all-around performances of the early season.
James added 13 assists and finished 14-of-15 from the line. Drew Gooden scored a season-high 24 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 15 with 14 rebounds for Cleveland as the Cavs' top threesome outscored Boston's Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce 77-64. Allen led the Celtics with 29 points on 10-of-25 shooting. James came in averaging 37.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 9.5 assists in his past six games, joining Wilt Chamberlain (1964) and Oscar Robertson (1965) as the only players to reach those totals in a six-game stretch.
"LeBron's numbers are gaudy,'' Boston coach Doc Rivers said before the game. Everything about him is these days. With his team leading by one in overtime, James drained a long 3-pointer to put Cleveland ahead 99-95, and following misses by both teams, Cavs forward Sasha Pavlovic made a steal in the lane and fed James who was fouled. He made both free throws to make it 101-95 with 54.3 seconds remaining.
Allen's 3-pointer brought the Celtics within 102-98 but James went to the line and made another pair to give the Cavs a six-point lead. Pierce's 3 made it 105-101 but James again made his free throws. During the closing minutes, James and Garnett exchanged a few choice words and both teams played as if it were a playoff game in June. After the final horn, there were no friendly hugs shared between two of the East's powers. - NBA.com
   LeBron James Achieves Back-To-Back Triple-Double's!
LeBron James | Official Website of BBallOne.com
November 25, 2007 - The Cleveland Cavaliers were having a blast laughing at the Indiana Pacers for about 2 1/2 quarters. The joke almost was on them. Indiana erased a 14-point deficit in the third quarter before Cleveland rallied behind LeBron James' fourth triple-double of the season to beat the Pacers 111-106 Sunday for their third straight win.
Cleveland's obnoxious behavior and the lapse that followed bothered coach Mike Brown. "We have to do a better job of respecting the game,'' he said. "Especially when we're up. We've got to continue doing the little things on both ends of the floor that got us the lead.'' James, the league's leading scorer, finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
He needed to perform that way because his teammates struggled without him. The Cavaliers led 71-63 in the third quarter when James went to the bench to rest. With James out, the Pacers went on a 12-2 run to take a 75-73 lead at the end of the period. Indiana swingman Marquis Daniels scored six of his 25 points during the run. During that stretch of nearly four minutes, the Cavaliers had five turnovers and took only two shots. James, who did more than his share of trash talking, gained respect for the Pacers as the game progressed.
"They're more up-and-down,'' he said. "I think (Pacers coach Jim) O'Brien has definitely put them in a position to win ball games because they run up-and-down. They have the athletes to do that, and they have the point guard that's going to lead them. I like what I'm seeing.'' It was the 14th triple-double of his career. "He might be the only guy I've seen that looks like he was engineered to play basketball,'' Danny Granger, who guarded James for much of the game, said. "He's a phenomenal player.'' James said the triple-doubles only matter if they lead to wins. "We're playing some good basketball, and I'm the catalyst of that. The best thing about it, we got three straight wins and that's good. We got a little streak going.'' - NBA.com
LeBron James Destroys The Raptors With His Triple-Double
LeBron James | Official Website of BBallOne.com
November 24, 2007 - LeBron James continues to make difficult feats look easy. Cleveland's star forward scored 37 points as part of his third triple-double this season in the Cavaliers' 111-108 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday. "If he continues with this scoring and stats, I would hate to see the numbers at the end,'' Cleveland teammate Damon Jones said. "They will be off the charts.''
In addition to scoring six points in the final minute to seal the win, James had 12 rebounds and 12 assists for the 13th triple-double of his career in the regular season. "He's phenomenal,'' Cleveland coach Mike Brown said. "He makes the triple-double seem effortless. I have to tell myself not to take it for granted.''
James' performance was nearly offset by Chris Bosh, who led Toronto with 41 points to tie his career high. The 6-foot-10 forward was unstoppable near the basket, going 13-of-25 from the field and making 15 of 17 free throws. "There is nothing I don't like about his game,'' Brown said. "He was incredible.'' In the end, the decision went to the Cavaliers and James, who took his usual low-key approach to his performance.
"It's not really as easy as it may look,'' he said. "I have to do what is best for the team to win. No matter what plays I have to make, I need to do them.''
LeBron James Lights Up The Timberwolves With 45!
LeBron James | Official Website of BBallOne.com
November 22, 2007 - LeBron James has decided to take matters into his own hands. Barely breaking a sweat, James had 45 points, eight rebounds and five assists to carry the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 97-86 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. It's been a breathtaking four-game stretch for King James, who topped 40 points for the second time in three games and is averaging 39.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists in the previous four to get the Cavs (6-6) back to .500.
James, playing as he did while leading the Cavs to their first NBA finals last season, did it all. He just missed his second straight triple-double, finishing with 10 rebounds, nine assists and three blocks. He made 13 of 15 free throws, including four straight in the final 3.8 seconds as the Cavs sealed it.
"I don't know how he keeps doing what he does,'' coach Mike Brown said. "I'm watching him, and I get exhausted. That's how good it is to be able to do that night after night after night.'' Drew Gooden added 17 points and nine rebounds and Dwayne Jones chipped in 10 rebounds off the bench for Cleveland, but this was the LeBron Show from start to finish.
"I wasn't forcing anything,'' James said. "I was just taking what was there.'' James was on a roll from the start, scoring 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting in the first quarter to help the Cavs take an early lead. He added 17 more in the fourth to keep the Wolves at bay, dropping them to 1-8 to start the season.
LeBron James Makes Quick Work Of Boozer And The Jazz!

November 17, 2007 - Once LeBron James decided to dominate, the Utah Jazz were defenseless -- and soon, defeated. James scored 34 of his 40 points in the second half, and stripped former teammate Carlos Boozer in the final seconds Friday night to give the Cleveland Cavaliers a 99-94 victory over Utah, ending a five-game winning streak by the Jazz.
"He took over,'' Utah's Deron Williams said. "He's one of those special players, who once he gets going, you can't stop him.'' James, who had 16 points in the third and 18 in the fourth, either scored or assisted on 15 of Cleveland's 19 baskets in the second half. He tied Walt Wesley's 1971 team record for most points in a half.
"He was pretty good,'' Cavs center Zydrunas Ilgauskas deadpanned. Offensive fireworks aside, James' biggest play was a block with 12.8 seconds left on Boozer, who is still regarded as a villain by Cleveland fans for reneging on a promise to sign a contract with the Cavs and leaving as a free agent in 2004. - NBA.com
LeBron James Needed More Than Magic Win This One!

November 16, 2007 - LeBron James heard the whistle and figured he was headed to the free throw line. He got there. Just not to shoot. Driving down the lane in the final seconds of overtime, James was tied up by Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu for a game-ending jump ball as the Magic, paced by Dwight Howard's 35 points and 16 rebounds, remained unbeaten on the road with a 117-116 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Howard, almost unstoppable near the basket, made two free throws with 5.8 seconds left in OT to put the Magic up by one. Following a timeout, James, who finished with 39 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds, took the inbounds pass at the top of the key and quickly drove past Keith Bogans.
But as he approached the basket, James was wrapped up from the side by a helping Turkoglu, who had been called for a critical three-shot foul against James with 2.4 seconds left in regulation. Orlando's forward got his hands on the ball but also appeared to make contact with James' forearms. Referee Leon Wood, though, signaled for a jump ball, and as Cleveland fans booed loudly, James walked around with a puzzled look on his face.
"I got there early enough to help Boges. I didn't foul him - this time,'' Turkoglu said, smiling. James won the jump, but the ball was tipped out of bounds as the Magic improved to an NBA-best 5-0 on the road. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, James is the first player to record that many points, assists and rebounds in a game since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968. However, he would have gladly traded the rare triple-double for a win.

November 14, 2007 - Iverson scored a season-high 37 points and Smith added 29 to help the Denver Nuggets beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-100 on Monday night. "They didn't steal my spotlight,'' said Anthony, who had 22 points and nine rebounds. "They did what they were supposed to do. They took advantage of the defense that they threw at us.''
LeBron James led Cleveland with 27 points, but the Nuggets were able to contain the rest of the Cavaliers. "Even though LeBron had a great game, his great game came from getting fouled,'' Nuggets coach George Karl said. "We took away what we wanted to take away, him making other people better.''
The Cavaliers struggled offensively. They shot 41.9 percent from the field and were 21-for-38 from the foul line. "I'm not too disappointed,'' James said. "We did a lot of things that we wanted to do differently. We didn't execute offensively or defensively. I think we tried to do some things right.''
The Nuggets led by as many as 27 in the second half Monday, but Shannon Brown hit two jumpers to start the final period that cut Denver's lead to 88-72. That's when Smith came alive. He scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and was 4-for-5 from behind the 3-point line to push the lead back to 25. - NBA.com
LeBron James Does Some Clipping Of His Own!
LeBron James | Official Website of BBallOne.com
November 12, 2007 - Everybody knows the Cavaliers are LeBron James' team. He loves it, though, when other guys call some of the shots. Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 25 points, James added 22 and Cleveland rallied to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 103-95 on Sunday night.
Drew Gooden added 18 points and 17 rebounds for the defending Eastern Conference champions, who needed a fourth-quarter spurt after blowing leads of 11 and 13 points in the game. On different occasions, Devin Brown and Larry Hughes suggested plays, with the approval of Cavs coach Mike Brown. James was enthusiastic, too.
Cavaliers VS. Clippers is the Last Game Highlighted on the Video
"I'm leading the team, but I have no problem with other guys calling sets. It's fun,'' he said. "Everybody is contributing. It's not about LeBron James, it's about everybody on the team.'' Sam Cassell scored 28 points for the Clippers, who lost their second in a row after opening the season 4-0. Corey Maggette had 25 points and 11 rebounds, the first time someone other than Chris Kaman led the team in rebounding this season. Kaman added 21 points.
"If we keep getting this effort, we'll be fine,'' Cassell said. "This was a heck of an effort. I'm mad that we lost, but if we keep playing the way we played tonight, we'll win 70 percent of our games.'' The Clippers slumped to 35 percent field-goal shooting in the fourth, while Cleveland hit 62 percent. "We just had too many dry spells during the game,'' Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said. "We fought our way back into it, then they ran the lead back up on us and we came back again with some good play out of certain guys. We got ourselves a lead going into the fourth quarter, but we didn't sustain it.'' - NBA.com
LeBron James And Cavs Lose To A Williams Last Second Layup
LeBron James | Official Website of BBallOne.com
November 8, 2007 - James, who had a triple-double before the end of the third quarter, tied it with a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 6 seconds left to play. But before the Cavs could revel in the comeback, Williams was off and running toward the other end and the game-winner.
Williams drove the length of the floor for a layup with 1.3 seconds remaining Wednesday night to give the Utah Jazz a 103-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, overcoming LeBron James' triple-double and tying 3-pointer just seconds before.
"We just get it and go. We find that works for us,'' said Williams, who finished with 15 points. "I think they felt we were going to call a timeout. They're looking back to see what we're doing and while they're doing that we're racing up the court.''
James scored the final seven points for the Cavs and finished with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists - his 11th career triple-double. But he and the rest of the Cavs were caught by surprise by Williams' mad dash at the end. - NBA.com

LeBron James And Cavaliers Lift Themselves Over Knicks!
LeBron James | Official Website of BBallOne.com
November 5, 2007 - LeBron James scored 45 points and Daniel Gibson made four 3-pointers in just over two minutes in the fourth quarter to rally the Cavaliers past the New York Knicks, 110-106, last night in Cleveland.
James bounced back from a 10-point performance in a season-opening loss to Dallas by scoring the most points ever by a Cleveland player against New York. World B. Free dropped 39 on the Knicks in 1984.
After looking unworthy of calling themselves defending Eastern Conference champions against the Mavericks, the Cavaliers got big plays from James, big shots from Gibson, and a big win before embarking on a tough six-game road trip out West.
